Visiting days depend on their register number

At FCI Beaumont Low, Saturday/Sunday visiting alternates by the inmate's register number: an odd 5th digit visits on odd-numbered weekend dates, an even digit on even-numbered dates. Weekdays and federal holidays are open to everyone. (The Medium and USP units at this complex may follow a similar system, but that wasn't confirmed in this document.)

Points / frequency: Monthly visiting points: Low (BML) 15 points, Medium (BMM) 12 points, USP (BMP) 8 points. 1 point charged per weekday visit, 2 points per weekend/holiday visit. Points reset monthly.

Visiting can be cancelled for lockdowns, weather or count problems. Call the facility the day before you travel.

Dress code

  • No khaki or camouflage-colored clothing
  • No white T-shirts or medical scrubs
  • No sleeveless, see-through, halter, or low-cut tops
  • No shorts or skirts/dresses shorter than 2 inches above the knee
  • No form-fitting/athletic wear (sweat suits, leggings, spandex)
  • No head wear except religious attire; no non-prescription sunglasses
  • No thong-style or open-toe shoes

You may bring

  • Valid state or U.S. government photo ID (passport or driver's license)
  • Up to $20 in coins/small bills in a clear change purse
  • Comb, plain wedding band, religious medal with chain, approved heart medication
  • For infants: sealed baby wipes, up to 5 diapers, sealed formula, sealed baby food jars, empty bottle, plastic spoon, in a small clear tote bag

Not allowed

  • Cell phones, cameras, or recording devices
  • Weapons, drugs, alcohol, or any contraband
  • Large bags, purses, packages, or documents for the inmate without prior Unit Manager approval
  • Money for deposit into an inmate's account through the visiting room
  • Any item not on the approved list (locker storage available for the rest)

ID requirements
Visitors 16 or older must show valid state or U.S. government photo ID (e.g., passport, driver's license); no ID means no entry.
Children
Under 18 need written parental/guardian consent to be on the visiting list; under 16 must be accompanied by a responsible adult (not necessarily a relative). Visitors must supervise children at all times or the visit may be terminated.
Vending machines
Only visitors (not inmates) may buy from vending machines. Bring change in a clear see-through purse.
Money you may bring
Up to $20 per person in $1 and $5 bills and coins, carried in a clear see-through change purse only
  • Processing stops at 9:30 a.m. on weekends/holidays and 2:00 p.m. on weekdays ahead of institutional counts
  • Lockers are available in the Outside Administration Building for bags/purses
  • Check bop.gov for the current facility-specific visiting schedule before traveling
  • SHU/non-contact video visits are ordinarily limited to Monday and Friday, one hour
