Points / frequency: Each inmate gets 8 visiting points per month at the FCI: 1 point per weekday visit, 2 points per weekend/holiday visit. The point system is not normally used at the camp (FPC/SCP).

Visiting can be cancelled for lockdowns, weather or count problems. Call the facility the day before you travel.

Dress code

  • No bare feet, open-toed shoes, flip-flops, backless slip-ons, or sandals (including on babies)
  • No camouflage attire, miniskirts, shorts, halter/strapless tops, or spandex
  • No sleeveless shirts, hats, bandanas, sweatpants, hooded jackets, or scarves
  • No clothing resembling the inmate uniform: khaki pants/shirts (FCI) or green pants/shirts (Camp)
  • No medical scrubs or clothing that resembles staff uniforms
  • Dress must not be overly revealing or suggestive

You may bring

  • Valid driver's license or state-issued photo ID
  • Clear plastic purse, 8 inches or less in height/width
  • Reasonable amount of cash for vending machines
  • Baby items: bottles, baby food, two diapers, one change of baby clothes
  • Sweater, comb (no sharp/long handle), heart medication or other pre-approved medically necessary medication, and jewelry normally worn (e.g., wedding band)

Not allowed

  • Cell phones, pagers, PDAs, wrist/pocket watches, cameras, or video games
  • Any food brought from outside the institution
  • Packages, gifts, or clothing left for an inmate
  • Money for deposit into an inmate's trust fund account (mail postal money orders instead)
  • Written messages, photographs, or documents exchanged during the visit

ID requirements
Front Lobby Officer requires a valid driver's license or state ID card; other official ID may be accepted at staff's discretion.
Children
Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult family member. Children 16-17 without a parent/guardian/adult family member present need written approval in advance. Children must stay seated with their visitors.
Vending machines
Vending machines are available (sandwiches, soups, beverages). All food bought must be eaten during the visit; nothing may be kept or taken out.

Reasonable amount of cash for vending machines, based on number of visitors
  • Visitors are not processed into the FCI/Camp before 8:00 a.m. or after 2:00 p.m.
  • Visitor processing is temporarily paused during institutional counts
  • A toy room is available at both the FCI and Camp for children
  • Keys, watches, and electronics must be locked in lobby lockers or left in your vehicle
  • Bring only cash for vending — no wallets/purses beyond the allowed clear bag
