Visiting can be cancelled for lockdowns, weather or count problems. Call the facility the day before you travel.

Dress code

  • No shorts, sweat suits, athletic wear, or spandex-style clothing
  • No tank tops, halter tops, midriff tops, or strapless tops/dresses
  • No khaki, dark brown, orange, or gray clothing (resembles inmate uniforms)
  • No camouflage, hats/caps/scarves, or hooded shirts/jackets
  • Dresses/skirts must be knee-length or longer, with no slit above the knee
  • Closed, strapped shoes only — no flip-flops, slippers, or shower shoes; heels/wedges under 1 inch only

You may bring

  • Valid photo ID: driver's license, state/federal ID card, or passport
  • Small clear bag or change purse (max 6"x6") with $5 bills or less
  • Essential medication, limited to the dose needed during the visit
  • For infants: 4 diapers, a package of wipes, one change of clothes, 2 clear baby bottles, 2 small jars of baby food, 1 receiving blanket, a clear cup, a plastic spoon, and a small clear tote

Not allowed

  • Cell phones, cameras, or recording devices of any kind
  • Purses, packages, toys, or unopened parcels
  • Watches or other electronic wristbands
  • Any medication beyond what's needed for that visit (non-essential medication is not allowed at all)

Good to know

ID requirements
Visitors 16 and older must show valid photo ID: driver's license, state/federal ID card, or passport. Altered, forged, or expired IDs are not accepted, and check-cashing cards or similar easily-produced IDs are not appropriate.
Children
Up to four children under 16 may visit at a time, along with up to four adults. Children under 16 are not pat-searched, but must clear the metal detector, and are not required to sign the visitor log. Games and books are available in the visiting room; children age 12 and under may sit on the inmate's lap.
Vending machines
Visitors may buy food/drinks from vending machines in the visiting room; inmates may not use the vending area themselves, and all vending food must be finished or thrown away before visitors leave.
Money you may bring
Cash in bills of $5 or less, carried in a small (max 6"x6") clear plastic bag or change purse
  • Processing pauses roughly 9:00–10:45 a.m. for institutional activities — plan your arrival around it
  • If you want a photo with the inmate, arrive before 11:30 a.m.; photos are taken about 11:30 a.m.–12:15 p.m. and stop at 12:15 p.m.
  • Lockers in the front lobby hold items not allowed inside; you keep the key
  • Once a visitor leaves the visiting room, that visit is over for the day — there's no re-entry
