  • Baby food or baby bottles, for visitors with infants only

Not allowed

  • Cameras, recording equipment, cassette/VCR tapes, or cell phones
  • Food or beverages brought from outside the institution
  • Packages, gifts, purses, handbags, or parcels (leave them in your vehicle)
  • Toys of any kind

Good to know

ID requirements
Each adult visitor must present valid photo identification to the front lobby officer. Non-photo IDs will not be accepted.
Children
All visitors, regardless of age, must be pre-approved and on the inmate's visiting list. Prospective visitors under 16 must be accompanied by a responsible adult, and no more than five children may visit at one time (with up to four adults). Parents/guardians must maintain complete control of their children at all times; losing control of a child is grounds to end the visit.
Vending machines
USP Marion does not provide meals for visitors, but vending machines are available for inmate/visitor use.
  • No inmate visitors are processed into the visiting room after 1:30 p.m., so arrive early
  • The satellite camp (SCP Marion) follows the same 8:30 a.m.–3:00 p.m. schedule and rules
  • Store all bags, purses, and valuables in your vehicle before entering — the institution is not responsible for lost or stolen property
  • Request approval for new (non-immediate-family) visitors at least three weeks before the intended visit
