Visiting days depend on their housing unit

The main FCI and Camp are open to everyone on their scheduled days. In the FDC (detention) unit, J1 housing visits Friday and Saturday while J2 visits Sunday and Monday, and the two units swap which days they get every quarter.

Points / frequency: FCI/SCP: 6 visiting points per month; 1 point deducted per Monday and/or Friday visit day, 2 points deducted per weekend/holiday visit day. FDC inmates get up to 5 visitors and a 2-hour visit limit per day.

Visiting can be cancelled for lockdowns, weather or count problems. Call the facility the day before you travel.

Dress code

  • No see-through or provocative garments; no plunging necklines
  • Dress hem must be at or below the bend of the knee; no wrap-around or mini skirts
  • No strapless/sleeveless clothing (except children 10 and under); no form-fitting clothing (leggings, spandex)
  • No shorts (except children 10 and under, above the knee)
  • No khaki or camouflage-colored clothing
  • No shower shoes, flip-flops, or open-toed shoes; no hats

You may bring

  • Driver's license or other state photo ID (or valid school ID for ages 16-18)
  • One clear/transparent purse or zip-lock bag (half-gallon size max)
  • Cash in $1 and $5 bills only
  • Life-saving medication (given to the Visiting Room Officer)
  • For infants: 2 clear bottles, 4 diapers, 3 unopened baby food jars, 1 small plastic spoon, baby clothes

  • Food, gifts, games, needlework, pocketbooks, baby strollers, or packages
  • Cell phones
  • Excess cash, excessive jewelry, cosmetics
  • Tobacco, matches, or lighters

Good to know

ID requirements
Visitors 16 and older must present current government photo ID (passport, driver's license, or state/local ID card); a valid current-year school ID is accepted for ages 16-18.
Children
Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult family member or guardian on the approved visiting list; the group is limited to 5 visitors total per inmate.
Vending machines
Vending machines in the visiting room are for visitors only; inmates may not handle currency or operate the machines.
