Points / frequency: 16 visiting points/month; weekday visits cost 2 points, weekend/holiday visits cost 4. At main FMC, Friday counts as a weekend day (4 pts); at SCP Camp, Friday counts as a weekday (1 pt).
Visiting can be cancelled for lockdowns, weather or count problems. Call the facility the day before you travel.
Dress code
- No khaki-colored pants (reserved for inmate uniforms)
- No short shorts, halter tops, or revealing clothing
- No flip-flops or open-toe shoes; closed footwear required
- No hats, scarves, or bandannas
- Coats allowed only if screened through the x-ray machine
You may bring
- State driver's license, state ID card, or two other forms of photo ID with signature
- Up to $20 cash for vending machines
- Car keys
- Life-saving medication if needed (staff will hold it during the visit)
- A reasonable amount of infant care items or sanitary napkins
Not allowed
- Cell phones, cameras, or other electronics
- Food brought from outside
- Purses, bags, or briefcases (must be locked away or left in your vehicle)
- Birth certificates as identification (not accepted)
- Exchanging any items or money with the inmate
Good to know
- ID requirements
- Visitors need a state driver's license, state ID card, or two other forms of photo ID showing full name and signature. Birth certificates are not accepted.
- Children
- Children under 16 must be accompanied and supervised by an adult family member at all times; a children's playroom with toys is available, but inmates may not enter it. Birth certificates are not valid ID for anyone visiting.
- Vending machines
- Visitors may bring cash to buy snacks from vending machines; no outside food is allowed.
- Money you may bring
- Up to $20 cash for visitors (for vending machines only); no coins or money may be handed to the inmate.
- Do not arrive more than 15 minutes before visiting hours start
- Visitor processing stops at 8:15 PM on weekday visits and 2:15 PM on weekend/holiday visits
- Anything not authorized in the visiting room must stay in your vehicle or a locker
- To bring more than 5 visitors, ask the Counselor at least 3 weeks in advance
- Motels and taxi services are available near the Lexington facility for overnight stays
