Visiting can be cancelled for lockdowns, weather or count problems. Call the facility the day before you travel.

Dress code

  • No sleeveless, strapless, halter, tank, or crop tops; no backless tops
  • No bathing suits, spandex/leggings/tights/leotards, or sun dresses
  • Shorts, skirts, and dresses must be no more than 2 inches above the knee
  • No hats, caps, scarves, or hooded shirts/jackets/sweaters
  • No camouflage, khaki-colored clothing (matches inmate uniform), or clothing resembling staff uniforms
  • No flip-flops, shower shoes, or crocs; shoes required for everyone except infants
  • No transparent clothing, ripped/holed clothing, or sweatpants/sweatshirts/athletic wear
  • Heels no higher than 3 inches

You may bring

  • Valid unexpired photo ID (state driver's license, state ID card, passport, or alien registration card)
  • One small clear plastic bag, no larger than 4"x4"x12"
  • Up to $40 in cash, or a credit/debit card, for vending machines
  • One car key and one over-garment (coat, jacket, or sweater)
  • Feminine hygiene items (tampons and pads)
  • For infants: a car seat/infant carrier, diapers, wipes, a change of clothes, a blanket, clear bottles, and sealed baby food/formula (see notes for exact limits)

Not allowed

  • Cell phones, electronics (cameras, smartwatches, tablets, laptops)
  • Handbags, purses, wallets, and baby diaper bags
  • Outside food or drinks, chewing gum, or tobacco/vape products
  • Strollers, toys, magazines, books, or newspapers
  • Weapons, knives, handcuff keys, matches, or lighters
  • Gifts, packages, letters, or photos for the inmate (must be sent by mail instead)

Good to know

ID requirements
All visitors 16 and older must present valid, unexpired photo ID: a state driver's license, state ID card, passport, or alien registration card. Visitors 17 and younger may use a school ID only if they have not yet obtained a state-issued ID. Staff hold all photo IDs during the visit and return them afterward.
Children
Visitors under 16 must be escorted by a responsible adult visitor (18 or older) who is also on the inmate's approved visiting list. A parent or legal guardian (not the inmate) must sign the Visitor Information form (BP-A0629) to authorize a visit by anyone under 18. Each inmate may have up to 5 adult and 5 child visitors at once, and children must remain under direct parental supervision, especially in the Children's Center area.
Vending machines
Visitors may purchase food and drink for the inmate from vending machines in the Visiting Room using cash (up to $40) or a credit/debit card. Purchased items must be eaten or discarded in the Visiting Room before the visit ends; opened items cannot leave with the inmate. Inmates may not handle money or use the vending machines themselves.
Money you may bring
Up to $40 in cash, or a credit/debit card, for vending-machine purchases only. Money may not be given directly to the inmate or deposited into a commissary/trust account during a visit.
