Rotation: Social visiting is held Sunday, Monday, Friday and Saturday only (no visits Tuesday-Thursday). The visiting schedule runs on a continued rotation; any deviation must be approved by administration.

Special Housing Unit (SHU)

Rotation: Special Housing Unit (SHU) social visits happen only Tuesday and Thursday mornings, conducted as non-contact video visits via monitors in the visiting room. Administrative Detention visits last 2 hours; Disciplinary Segregation visits last 1 hour.

Visiting can be cancelled for lockdowns, weather or count problems. Call the facility the day before you travel.

Dress code

  • No shorts, mini-skirts, or skirts/dresses with slits (must be no more than 2 inches above the knee)
  • No sleeveless, strapless, backless, or see-through tops
  • No low-cut, deep V-neck, or midriff-baring clothing
  • No sweatpants, sweatshirts, warm-up/jogging suits, or spandex
  • No hats, caps, hoods, scarves, wigs, or sunglasses
  • No open-toed shoes, sandals, flip-flops, or slippers
  • No coats or jackets other than a suit coat/blazer worn appropriately
  • No orange, green, or camouflage clothing, or anything resembling inmate/staff uniforms

You may bring

  • Valid photo ID: driver's license, government ID, consular ID card, or passport
  • Small clear/see-through coin purse with up to $20 (bills no larger than $5)
  • For infants: up to 3 baby bottles with milk/formula, 3 diapers, baby wipes in a clear bag, 1 receiving blanket
  • Life-sustaining medication (must be verified and held by staff during the visit)

Not allowed

  • Cell phones, cameras, recording devices, radios, and other electronics
  • Purses, briefcases, or diaper bags that are not see-through
  • Weapons, ammunition, knives, or handcuffs/keys
  • Gum, candy, food, tobacco, or alcoholic beverages
  • Watches, sunglasses, and cosmetics
  • Sippy cups, strollers, baby carriers, toys, and photographs/photo albums

Good to know

ID requirements
All visitors 16 and older must show a valid driver's license, government-issued ID, consular-issued ID card, or passport with a current photograph.
Children
Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult who is on the inmate's approved visiting list. Visitors 16-17 years old need a parent or legal guardian's signature on the Visitor Information form (BP-629.05) to visit without an adult. Children age 4 and under are exempt from some clothing restrictions (shorts, sleeveless tops, bare feet).
Vending machines
A vending area is available for visitors, but inmates may not accompany visitors there, congregate in the area, or handle money at any time.
Money you may bring
No more than $20.00 total, in bills no larger than $5 denominations, carried in a small clear/see-through coin purse
  • Getting on the visiting list requires a mailed visitor application and an NCIC background check, so plan ahead before your first visit
  • Arrive at least 1 hour before visiting hours end; visitors arriving after that will not be processed
  • Lockers are available in the lobby for storing prohibited items
  • Visiting list changes are allowed only once every six months, so keep the list current
  • A designated nursing room is available for breastfeeding
  • Video visiting applies only to Special Housing Unit (SHU) inmates, not general population
